Welcome to the Consular Section

WELCOME TO THE CONSULAR SECTION OF THE EMBASSY OF THE REPUBLIC OF ANGOLA IN DAR ES SALAAM, UNITED  REPUBLIC OF TANZANIA.

The Consular Section of the Embassy of the Republic of Angola in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, provides assistance and services to Angolan citizens living in the area of its jurisdiction as well as visa services for Tanzanians and Foreign citizens residing in the United Republic Tanzania.

Foreign citizens, holders of ordinary passport, wishing to travel to Angola should be in possession of a resident permit visa granted by the Tanzania Immigration Services, valid for at least six (6) months.

Other services include issuance and renovation of a national passport (Angolan citizens only), notary and legalization services (birth registration, marriage registration and transcription of the marriage and certificate of death, authentications of documents, power of attorney etc).

 

Civil Registration And Notary

The Consular Act of Civil Registry is the one who is related to legal facts that create, modify or extinguish the status of civilian nationals residing abroad or, occasionally, who practice is provided in the legislation regarding the registration process conducted in a civil and consular post, or Consulates.

The following are the acts of Consular Civil Registry and Notary”:

a) Birth Certificate
b)   Marriage Certificate
c)   Death Certificate
d)   Celebration of Marriage between Angolans and between Angolans and foreigners
e)   Authentication or legalization of documents, etc…

 

Requirements for Obtaining the Birth Certificate

It should be made in this Consular Sector in the following way:

a) Document issued by the Health Services of Local authorities, as proof of birth of the person in that area;
b) The newborn should be son or daughter of Angolans parents or at least  one Angolan and foreign or vice versa;
c) the parents or one of them will be accompanied by a document identifying them as parents of the newborn (Angolans abroad).

 

Requirements for the organization of process of marriage:

a) Those interested should be Angolans or at least one of them;
b) Those interested should be in possession of certificate of birth narrative;
c) a certificate of residence;
d) Copy of B.I. or passport;
e) Document military if the bridegroom is in military age and be Angolan ( from 18 to  45 years old);

For transcriptions of the marriage process celebrated in Tanzania, the interested must, above of the all mentioned documentation, they must supply the Marriage Certificate issued by the Tanzanian authority and it must be translated into Portuguese.

 

Consular Registration

The Consular Registration, is a mandatory act, in principle at no cost, whereby the identification of the citizen is given on national archives of the consular post by the area of jurisdiction fixed of residence, and immigrant, or is occasionally overseas for period of six months.

 

Protection and Consular Assistance

The protection of the Angolan citizens with physical or legal residence, in transit or based in Consular town or District including the following:

a) In case of death;
b) In case of accident or serious illness;
c) in case of arrest or detention
d) victim of violent crime;
e) In case of repatriation or provision of aid; etc…

 

Military Enlistment

The General Military Service Law No 1/93 of March 23rd and the Council of Ministers Resolution No 18/98 of December 31st, stipulates that every national citizen who reach 18 years of age must identify themselves. Those who are outside the country (Angola) they must adjusted their status with the military Services at Consular Sector.

In compliance of military obligations, the Consular Sector provides cooperation in the following cases:

a) Completion of the declaration of individual census military
b) Postponement of incorporation for reasons of Education; and
c) Issue of military ballots.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION FOR THE USER AND APPLICANT FOR ENTRY VISA TO THE ANGOLAN TERRITORY

The Embassy of the Republic of Angola in the United Republic of Tanzania informs esteemed users and applicants for entry visas to Angolan territory, that in light of the measures to prevent and control the spread of the SARS-COV-2 virus and COVID-19 are necessary compliance with the following requirements:

1– In addition to the documents indicated on the applicant forms, the following must be added:

  1. a) The certificate of vaccination against covid-19;
  2. b) An RT-PCR test performed 72 hours before entering Angolan territory;

2.Carrying out a rapid antigenic test upon arrival at the Airport, upon payment of AKZ11,278 (Eleven thousand, two hundred and seventy-eight kwanzas), equivalent to USD25 (twenty-five US dollars).

3.About quarantine:

3. a) For national citizens, resident foreigners and members of the Diplomatic Corps accredited in Angola from abroad, it is mandatory to observe a home quarantine of up to 10 (ten) days;

  1. b) The home quarantine is considered completed with the issuance of the discharge certificate by the competent health authority, which takes place after a SARS-Cov-2 antigen-type test with a negative result, carried out up to 10 (ten) days after the start of the quarantine home.

Requests for entry visa in regular passport must be made in person by the interested party, with the exception of senior officials and diplomatic passport holders.

Angolan Citizens newly arrived in Tanzania, are recommended to Register in this Consular Sector, by filling the Consular Registration form. The processes of registration is free of charge..
