Tourism in Angola

In a territory of 1,246,700 km2, Angola is the birthplace of a nature in wildlife and marine fauna, lush flora and sweet and cheerful people, making this country a blessed land that, with pleasure, welcomes all who want to rest, work, walk, treat yourself in medicinal waters or visit unusual places with dream landscapes, in unforgettable lands.

Angola also has 1,650km of sea coast, unexpectedly warm waters, beaches of white and fine sand to be lost on the horizon and a marine flora of the most varied of the African continent – Angola promises an endless good and unique moments spent in climate tropical and subtropical that, with average temperatures of 27ºc, invite the practice of some varieties of water sports.

Angola’s majestic rivers draw along their routes a spectacular landscape of waterfalls, rapid waterfalls and serpentine beds, visited by various species of birds and shaded by a wide variety of flora typical of these meanders, virgins and lush tropical forests, savannas, etc.

Angola retains dozens of protected areas: National parks, partial reserves such as Kissama, and coutadas, where the beauty of its greens and the charms of the wild animal kingdom is found, which only the climate and the African landscape can conceive, from the chirping of birds , the roar of lions, the noise of the herds of zebras, elephants, antelopes, cheetah jumps and leopards, reptile creep, the sight of crocodiles sleeping and hippos bathing. The giant Palanca Negra is the Angolan symbol used by the national airline and printed on some notes of the national currency.

Historical monuments tell Angola’s centuries-old past and its Neolithic rock art is visible in the caves of Tchitundo–Hulu in Namibe province. Here is also the contrast between the proximity of the sea and the immensity of the desert with unexpected flower, the Welwitchia Mirabilis. The medicinal waters of Waco Kungo and the stalagmites of the Caves of Sumbe are worthy of a quiet, organized and inviting stay.
